Lecture 1 _ Introduction to the module & Typographic System
Week 1 (26/8/19)
Its the first day of class and setting the tone Mr. Shamsul and Mr. Vinod started off by introducing us to the module. For the new comers he introduced to them the system the class works on the blog, the feedback form, the facebook group etc.
Quickly after that we wasted no time and jumped straight to the start of exercise 1. Typographic Systems, the whole class was divided into four group and given different typographic systems to study and present to the class on. Below are the slides.
Lecture 2 _ Type & Play
Week 2 (2/9/19)
In this second part of Type & Play exercise, we were asked to find a stock image and interplay type with it. The text chosen must be woven into a symbiotic relationship with the image. The sentence should be 3-5 words long.

Week 3
We showed our dissected letterforms for exercise "Type and Play : Part 1- Finding Type" and got our feedbacks from Mr. Vinod and Mr. Shamsul. Then, Mr. Vinod explained about the next exercise which is "Type and Play : Part 2 - Type & Image"
Lecture 4 _ Public Holiday .

Exercise
No exercises were done in class this week but we were told to work on our ideas and be ready with it by next week as were going to get critiqued.
Week 2 (2/9/19)
Our first exercise is to explore the 7 typographic system and apply to the following event details on a 200 X 200mm artboard:
The Design School,
Taylor's University
The Troublemakers Manifesto: A Design Colloquium
Open Public Lectures:
November 24, 2019
Lew Pik Sven, 9AM-10AM
Ezrena Mohd, 10AM-11AM
Suzy Sulaiman, 11 AM-12PM
November 25, 2019
Dr. Clarissa Ai Ling Li, 9AM-10AM
Professor John Sabraw, 10 AM-11 AM
Dr. Liyanna Khairuddin, 11 AM-12PM
Lecture Theatre 12
To start, we were told to sketch out our ideas roughly first. The followings are the sketches I've made.

I then start to digitising my ideas in Indesign with some changes and created other new compositions while making it.

I then asked for feedbacks and the followings are the results after changes were made.
Week 3 (9/9/19)
TYPE & PLAY_PART 1
Unfortunately i was absent due to unforeseen circumstances.
But this was my Type & Play. For this exercise, we had to find an image and try to dissect it to find 5 letterforms. After that, we had to refine it without losing the original form of the letterform found in the image. This is a picture i took of ferns.

After tracing out all the outlines of the leafs, I then proceed to find the letterforms in my tracing. These are the letterforms that i have found :

Week 5 (16/9/19)
I showed my final refinement (fig 2.11) to Mr. Shamsul and Mr Vinod, Mr. Vinod said that i had refined to the point where it lost the feel of the leaves. It was because from the beginning my traces were not detailed enough. They advised to not try and follow an existing font. I realised it was too late to go back to the tracing process so instead, i tried to go back one step on the refinement process.

In the second part of "Type & Play", we were assigned to find a image and interplay type with it. The text chosen must match and interplay well with the image chosen. The sentence should be 3-5 words long.
This is the picture i chose. An ariel view of the Empire State Building. And my first few attempts.

After showing it to Mr.Vinod and Mr.Shamsul, they found it too simple and boring. They say im not fully maximising the concept, the image behind. I then tried another approach but instead using photoshop.

Feedback
Feedback
Week 1 (5/4/19)
Its week one, so not much feedback we're given. We were briefed on our first exercise and for the newcomers they were introduced to the blog and feedback form system.
Week 2 (12/4/19)
Some feedback on the idividual typographic system:
a) Axial “Its fine”
b) Modular “Some allignment work should be done”
c) Grid “Give Paragraph spacing between the name and time”
d) Dilatational “Take not of the spacing between shape and text, make the shape slight;y smaller”
e) Radial “Hmm macam pie chart”"
d) Random “Could be more random
e ) Transitional “Move the last element to the edge”
Week 3 (19/4/19)
Absent.
Week 4 (26/4/19)
No class was held this week.
Week 5 (26/4/19)
Specific feedback :
Exercise 1 . Mr. Vinod and Mr. Shamsul saw my font and the said, the due tu my initial tracing not being as detailed, it resulted in a less disticntive font. He also adviced to not try and compare it too much to real life fonts.
Exercise 2. Yawn was his first reaction, it was too basic. With the picture i was going for he told me to be give it more depth, play around the building more.
