Lecture 4_ Different Types of Infographics and Tools

Week 4

We are tasked with Flip 4 and 5 to find the right style of infograph for different information.

Flip 4 & 5.

Project 1

Project 1_ Infographic Poster

For our project one we were to pick a recipe wed like to create. I chose to Nutella crepe, which i thought was a great choice. Easy to make and not too much ingredients.

So to start out, I searched on Pinterest for some references and re illustrate it my style.

I decided to go for an organic, paper cutout and colourful style of illustration. I wanted it to be naive and still stylish at the same time. After illustrating all the ingredients next step was to figure the best flow of layout. As for the layout, I imagined this poster to be apart of a magazine of some sort.

along the way i also thought adding the halftone effect would be nice. But unfortunately its impossible to retain the effect in after effects and just decide to opt it out.

Feedback:

HAHAHAHAHAH, so in other words Ms.Anis prefers the one on the left based on fig 1.3 as its better for readability. She commented on the spacing between each item and suggested having them closer, she also commented  my choice of typeface and asked me to change it.

after getting the feedback i thought id just give it a good change since were at it. I decided to change the colour, made the elements closer together and change the font to a sans serif font instead.

Final Poster Design for Project 1. (submission 24/02)

Project 2

Infographic animation. So for project 2 we are to animate the poster we did for project 1. We have to options, which is to either create a tutorial video or do a loop/gif out of your poster. Using the dimension 1080 x 1920.

Since my look is naive and minimal, i thought id like try and figure out how to make it more paper cut out like. As i said before, i had a hard time trying to figure out on how to transfer the files into After Effects while retaining the halftone effect. but unfortunately it just wasn't possible here was my first attempt.

this was a screnshot of the first attempt but i was satisfied with the effect that i just copy pasted properties, when i re-did it.
